Our commitment

According to the Care Quality Commission, safeguarding involves “protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights, and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.”

The Ivers Practice takes child safeguarding seriously, with all staff trained to protect children from bullying, harassment, harm, neglect, abuse, and discrimination.

Practice approach

The practice maintains:

  • Effective safeguarding systems, policies, and procedures
  • Prompt management of safeguarding concerns using local procedures
  • Consistent, open, and objective handling of all matters
  • Preventative safeguarding strategies with awareness of risk factors
  • Internal discussion of concerns involving children, families, and external agencies

Reporting concerns

The practice welcomes patient concerns about children’s safety without fear of recrimination. Patients receive sympathetic support when raising issues.
