Test Results

How to check your test results

Most routine results can be viewed online once they have been reviewed by the practice.

When results are usually available

  • Blood tests: usually around 3 working days (some tests take longer).
  • X-ray reports: usually around 3 to 5 working days.

Please wait until these timescales have passed before contacting reception, unless a clinician has told you to get in touch sooner.

If your GP practice requested the test

We review results that were requested by our clinicians and contact you when action is needed. You can check results by:

  • Checking online (fastest option)
  • Calling reception after 13:30
  • Discussing at a planned follow-up appointment

If a result is significantly abnormal, the practice will contact you.

If a hospital or community service requested the test

The service that ordered your test is responsible for reviewing the result and explaining next steps. They should provide the outcome directly to you.
