Taking part in research at our practice
From time to time, we may invite patients to consider taking part in approved health research studies.
Taking part is always voluntary. You can say no, or withdraw later, and this will not affect your care.
How research invitations work
- You may be contacted by text, email, letter, or discussed with during a routine appointment.
- You will be given clear information about what the study involves before you decide.
- If you join a study, you will be asked for consent and told what data is used.
Your confidentiality and consent
Identifiable information is not shared with external researchers without an appropriate legal basis and/or your consent where required.
All research used by the practice must meet governance, ethics, and data protection requirements (including UK GDPR).
Your NHS data for research and planning
Health data may be used for NHS research and service planning to improve diagnosis, treatments, and care delivery.
